Manar Hosny, a seasoned film editor, is the Acting General Manager of Production Departments at the National Center for Cinema. She graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema in 1988 and earned a two-year postgraduate diploma in editing in 1993.
She also served as the previous President of the National Center for Cinema.

Feature Films:

Manar Hosny has an extensive portfolio as a film editor, working on a wide range of notable feature films. Some of her prominent works include “Ahla El Awqat” (2004) directed by Hala Khalil, “Hareem Kareem” (2005) and “Esabat Dr. Omar” (2007) both directed by Ali Idris, and “El Shawq” (2010) directed by Khaled El Hagar, which earned critical acclaim. Her collaboration with various directors across different genres highlights her versatility and skill in the field of film editing.

TV Series:

She has also made significant contributions to television, editing several successful series. Notable among these are “Hanim Bent Basha” (2009) and “Azmet Nasab” (2016), both directed by Saeed Hamed, as well as multiple collaborations with director Khaled El Hagar on series like “Dowaran Shubra” (2011), “El Baltagy” (2012), and “Shams” (2014). Her work on “Law Kount El Qady” (2003), which featured 15 separate episodes on Dream TV Channel, showcases her ability to handle diverse storytelling formats.

Assistant Editor Experience (1984–2004):

Between 1984 and 2004, Manar Hosny gained valuable experience as an assistant editor, working alongside renowned editors such as Saeed El Sheikh, Adel Mounir, and Salwa Bakir. She contributed to several iconic films during this period, including “El Mouled,” “Shams El Zanaty,” “El Nemr We El Ontha,” “El Raqqasa We El Siyasi,” and “Hello America.” Her work on a diverse array of films, from action-packed titles like “Ayoun El Sokor” to socially charged dramas like “El Donia Ala Ganaah Yamama,” reflects her broad skill set and the strong foundation she built in the field of film editing.

Awards and Recognitions:

She has received numerous accolades throughout her career, reflecting her significant contributions to the fields of cinema and youth engagement. Notably, she earned the Best Editing Award at the 9th Cairo Radio and Television Festival in 2003 for the short fiction film “Tuesday, February 29,” and was recognized with a Certificate of Recognition for her work on the award-winning film “El Shawq” in 2010. Her dedication to promoting culture and education is evident through various honors, including medals and certificates from the Giza Educational Administration in 2018 and several youth centers in 2017 for her participation in initiatives like the Cinema Clubs and the “My Campaign: Participation – Giving” program. Additionally, she has been commended for her commitment to promoting integrity and transparency, as seen in her 2017 Certificate of Completion from the Administrative Control Authority.
