Filmmaker Course

Skills that the Trainee Will Acquire:

The trainee will learn the stages of filmmaking from top professionals in the world of cinema and television, all of whom are academics graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema and are also practitioners in the industry. They possess extensive experience gained from their participation in the production of many films and television series. The course will consist of an explanation of the principles of each specialization and the relationship between all the specializations. By the end of the course, the trainee will be able to create a film professionally and with high quality on their own. They will also gain important information that could help them excel in the profession or specialize in a particular area of interest from any of the six specializations that form the most crucial elements of the industry.

  1. The course consists of 36 hours, with two lectures per week.
  2. The trainee will learn the basics of all elements of filmmaking, including directing, editing, sound engineering, cinematography, screenwriting, and production.
  3. There will be two lectures for each specialization, covering the key skills and work principles.
  4. Executed projects will be showcased and published on the company’s Facebook page and Duet Studios’ YouTube channel, ensuring visibility and exposure for the content.
  5. Outstanding trainees will be selected for training in the company’s productions, whether in series, films, or advertisements.
  6. A filmed project will be produced with the participation of all trainees and will be showcased on the company’s YouTube channel. It will be executed professionally if the trainees wish, with only logistical support from the company and no financial support.
  7. The trainee will receive a certificate from Duet Studios for Artistic Production and Training, signed by all the trainers of the course, certifying that they have completed training in all the mentioned specializations. This will serve as a gateway to entering the job market.

Ahmed Oweis

Ahmed Oweis is a renowned Egyptian filmmaker and playwright with an extensive portfolio, including short and feature films such as Cairoke and Fokkak Mnni, as well as acclaimed plays like Tin Nation and The Sleeping City. He has won numerous awards for his work in film and theater, including the UNESCO Award for Screenwriting and the Gold Award at the Faiyum International Youth Film Festival. Oweis has also contributed to various international projects, including the German documentary Nile, and has published novels and poetry.

Manar Hosny

Manar Hosny is the Acting General Manager of Production Departments at the National Center for Cinema, with a career spanning over three decades. She has earned numerous awards for her work, including the Best Editing Award at the 2003 Cairo Radio and Television Festival and recognition for her film and TV series contributions. Manar Hosny’s extensive experience includes roles as an assistant editor on notable films and editing a wide range of feature films and television series.

Ibrahem Abdlaziz

Egyptian sound engineer and producer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sound Engineering from the Higher Institute of Cinema, Egypt. Since 2015, he has led the Sound Engineering Department at the National Center for Cinema and manages Duetto Studios Media Production House

Tamer Joseph

Tamer is an acclaimed Egyptian cinematographer with over two decades of experience, known for his work on films like “Hea Fawda” and “Hena Maysara,” as well as the Film “Zheimer.” He has won awards at the African Cinema Festival and Venice Film Festival and has been honored for his contributions to Egyptian cinema. His innovative approach continues to influence the visual storytelling in the industry.
